The trio has inaugurated their “dynamic” renewable ammonia plant in Ramme, Denmark. The facility aims to demonstrate cost-effective, fluctuating ammonia production based on variable power inputs.
AM Green Ammonia, a Greenko spinout entity focused on the production of renewable ammonia in India, announced that it has reached FID on the first phase of a multi-million ton per year plant.
Wärtsilä has been contracted to supply the total technology package for the conversion of the Viking Energy to run on ammonia fuel. An NYK-led consortium has been granted engine room safety accreditation by ClassNK for its ammonia-fueled, medium gas carrier design. The vessel is due to hit the water in 2026. Starting later this decade, NYK has also committed to transport renewable ammonia from Sembcorp’s under-development production project in India to Kyushu, Japan.

The Canadian government will allocate up to CAD 300 million for hydrogen & derivative exports to Europe, via a H2Global auction scheme. This funding commitment is expected to be matched by the German government, with the tender process set to launch before the end of this year.
AustriaEnergy announced that it has successfully submitted an environmental impact study covering the first phase of its ammonia mega-project HNH Energy, and expects to receive approval by late 2025. As with all Chilean projects under-development, the submission represents a critical milestone, and construction is expected to start in 2027.
OCI will deliver a fully-staffed, fully-operational ammonia production facility in Beaumont, Texas to Woodside later this year. The greenfield, 1.1 million ton per year facility will be supplied with CCS hydrogen feedstock from Linde starting in 2026.
Spain’s Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) has outlined a new subsidy program to help establish valleys or clusters for renewable hydrogen production. €1.2 billion in direct capital investment assistance will be allocated across a minimum of three projects, with an auction process to launch later this year.
